The North American Deutsch Kurzhaar Club had a successful booth at Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s 2016 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic that concluded February 21st. Pheasant Fest is an annual national convention and outdoor tradeshow.
The 2016 National Pheasant Fest boasted a show floor with the most booth spaces in the event's history - a 20% increase in vendors (105 more booths) exhibiting at the show over the previous year. In total, 20,682 attendees visited National Pheasant Fest in Kansas City to support wildlife habitat conservation efforts.
The NADKC booth is impressive. It has a hunting theme. A slide show constantly ran on a TV with great pictures of DKs in the field, marsh and forest.
Dave Henderson and Rick Medina were responsible for getting Pheasant Fest to have a ‘German Dog’ aisle. Other booths represented were the JGV-USA, Kleine Munsterlander, Deutsch Drahthaar, Pudelpointer and Deutscher Wachtelhund. At the Bird Dog Parade, Bob West did a fabulous job introducing the German breeds.
The NADKC booth is impressive. It has a hunting theme. A slide show constantly ran on a TV with great pictures of DKs in the field, marsh and forest. Dave Henderson, Rick Medina, Joe Gallo and Steve Remspecher had the extra work to transport and set up the booth. Lana & Mike Hambley, Jim Dannehy and John Kreuscher helped at the booth. We handed out hundreds of NADKC brochures and told interested people to check out our web site and facebook.
We had five very nice DKs at the booth. Dogs help attract people to the booth and provide us the opportunity to explain Deutsch Kurzhaars.
Blaine and Patti Carter were at the booth several times. Blaine held several impromptu sessions on the ‘Trained Retrieve’ on the young DKs. It was amazing to watch Blaine work with those dogs.
Rick Smith had several seminars on the ‘Bird Dog Stage’. He used one of our young DKs for one of this seminars.
